The Georgian composer Ana Kasrashvili has won the Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer. She is the first female composer to win this award. Her original piece made for an excerpt of the film J’ai Perdu Mon Corps by Jérémy Clapin convinced the professional jury of her immense talent.
At the 20th World Soundtrack Awards, traditionally presented on the closing night of Film Fest Ghent, Sabam once again awarded its own prize: the Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer. This award, worth 2,500 euro, focuses on original compositions by young talented composers. Each year, they are invited to participate in a composition contest to demonstrate their skills as a screen composer by writing a symphonic score for a selected film or TV series excerpt.
