These days, artistic works are shared on the Internet on an unprecedented scale. This technological revolution requires every economy to adapt.
Never before have graphic, visual and photographic works been distributed on such a large scale and at such a fast pace. This makes stronger human supervision - with the help of digital tools - necessary. Today, intelligent programs can track down images of your works on the Internet.
In collaboration with other copyright management organisations, Sabam is taking up this challenge by innovating internationally and taking the lead in the AIR project (Automatic Image Recognition). AIR is an innovative software program that can automatically recognise digital images. The program uses so-called 'fingerprinting' technology', with which images can automatically be traced. What is needed for this? The largest possible database with images of those works. And we could really use your help with this.
May we ask you to send us (digital) images of your works? We will then include these images in the database so that we will be able to manage your copyright royalties even more efficiently.
Which files should you send us?
- Files of the .jpeg format
- Minimum size: 200 x 200 pixels
- Please also fill in this image submission form in Excel.
You can send the images and the Excel file via Wetransfer to air@sabam.be or on a medium (CD, DVD, USB stick) by post to Sabam - Visual Arts AIR, Rue des Deux Eglises 41-43, 1000 Brussels.
General terms and conditions AIR
Please take a look at these general terms and conditions. When you send us images, we assume that you accept these terms.
Do you have a question? Please send an e-mail to air@sabam.be or call us at 02/286.15.02.
For the record, the image database will not be used in any way to distribute or commercialise these images, but only to create a digital fingerprint of them so that we can trace the use of your works and better protect and manage your copyright royalties.
Thank you in advance for your help!
